Beaches to Bridesmaids - Top 5 Places to Enjoy Your Flask

We need to preface this post with a quick disclaimer: when you're out and about with a flask, use appropriate caution because carrying a hip flask in public spaces is illegal throughout many locations within the United States, due to what are known as "open container" laws. These laws prohibit the possession of an open or unsealed container of alcohol in public or within the passenger compartment of a vehicle.
On the other hand, there are many places in which a flask is allowed and even enjoyable to bring along. In the following list, we'll discuss the top five places we recommend bringing your flask.

1. Tailgating

There are many people who spend hours and hours in the parking lot of a huge sporting complex or concert facility, grilling hot dogs, listening to music, partying, and talking to other avid tailgaters. Many times these people have coolers filled with ice, soda, and beer, but maybe you prefer some Jose Cuervo, Jack Daniels, or even something fancy, like a 15 year old single-malt scotch. If that is the case, a hip flask may be your best bet. It's highly suggested to bring one to your next tailgate party.

2. The Beach

Many times, when people go to the beach, they bring all sorts of things like blankets, umbrellas, folding chairs, even small tents, or small collapsible fences to keep little ones within a confined area. Many people also bring food and drink in a cooler, but there are some beaches that do not allow alcohol, so bottles or cans of beer will be “out of the question.” For those who are daring and feel they need a nip of their favorite beach drinks now and then, might want to consider bringing their flask along.

3. Sporting Events

Many sporting events charge as much as ten or fifteen bucks for a big plastic cup filled with beer, and sometimes it is not even very cold! It's simply blasphemy! Some folks are not too thrilled with this scenario, and naturally the sports complex will not allow you to bring in a cooler filled with something from Milwaukee or St. Louis, or even Golden Colorado, so you might need to bring your favorite hard stuff in a flask. Just make sure that you have a designated driver for the travel home. We all know how easy it is to get carried away with drinking at a sports game. So just remember: have fun, but don't drink and drive :)

4. Weddings

We all know that hip flasks really make the perfect gift for groomsmen and bridesmaids. They can even be given as early on as the wedding rehearsal or rehearsal dinner, which is likely the night before the big day. If that's the case, some of the groomsmen may choose to fill the flask with their favorite beverage and bring it on the wedding day. After all, some weddings do not serve alcohol, and sometimes the family chooses for the less expensive well brands rather than the fancy stuff. A drink or two can also never hurt in getting people into the wedding day groove.

5. Camping

When folks go camping, they might opt to bring along a little something delicious and delightful in their hip flask. We've even heard stories of fathers bringing their prized alcohol containers when they go on camping trips with their sons through scouts, school, or some other organized group. After all, everyone knows that a sip of Kentucky's finest is the best remedy for waking up in a waterlogged tent.
With so many wonderful, adventurous places to enjoy a flask, it's a wonder why we ever stay at home!
